Born on the 17th of August, 1961, in Cugir.
Stage director and university lecturer at the Theatre Department of the Faculty of Letteres of the “Babeş-Bolyai” University din Cluj, Mona Chirilă graduated from I.A.T.C. “I. L. Caragiale” of Bucureşti in 1987 (Class Cătălina Buzoianu). After graduation, she activated in important theatres of Romania.
She realized over 30 puppet performances, the majority of them being awarded prizes such as The Great Prize for the Best Performance, or The Prize for the Best Stage Direction, as in the case of: Steaua lui Arlecchino [The Star of Arlecchino] by Mona Chirilă, Făt-Frumos din lacrimă [The Fair Prince from the Tear], after Mihai Eminescu, Dragostea celor trei portocale [The Love of the Three Oranges], after Carlo Gozzi, Fetiţa cu chibrituri [The Little Girl with the Matches], after Hans Christian Andersen.
Among the theatre performances realized, we mention: Regina Mamă by Manlio Santanelli, The Prize for the Best Stage Direction, at the Festival of Short Theatre, Oradea; a performance of Commedia dell’Arte at the National Theatre in Târgu-Mureş,
